About Us

Next Generation

We’re Corinthia and Jake, the husband-and-wife team behind Cage Farm. This land has been part of my family for generations, and I grew up with deep ties to both the farm and our county’s history. Now, together, we’re breathing new life into it with fresh ideas, starting with our you-pick apple orchard.

While I bring the family roots and traditions, Jake brings a fresh perspective—learning the farm as we go and seeing it all with new eyes. For us, Cage Farm is more than a business: it’s a way to honor our past, share the beauty of the Patuxent, and create a place where families, friends, and neighbors can gather, learn, and enjoy the land.

Heritage

The Cage was first granted by Lord Baltimore in 1648 to Henry Parrot, earning the name Parrot’s Cage. Since then, the land has remained in the family—never sold—and its original home still serves as the family’s main residence.

In its earliest days, the property was used as a hunting lodge for Mr. Parrot before evolving into a working farm.

Over the centuries, it has produced Hereford cattle and tobacco, until the statewide tobacco buy-out of the 1980s. Shortly after, the farm was placed into agricultural preservation, ensuring its legacy for generations to come.
